Vila do Conde
To create a new visual identity for Vila do Conde. That was the goal of this project, creating a new iconography and a concept book for the city. Because of the personal relationship I have with it, this project has a personal aspect, dedicated to the streets I walked for over 20 years.
The new identity ends up being a love letter to my hometown.
Based on the ancient roots of the territory and the strong presence of monuments from the past, I created a contemporary image of one of the most iconic aspects of the city: the aqueduct.
This project was made as part of the Design II class of the 3rd year of the Communication Design degree of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto.

With a simple and minimalist iconography, I decided to create 4 different color-coded icons to represent four central aspects of Vila do Conde's identity: Artisanship, History, Culture and Nature.

Graphic patterns created from the different iconography variations
The combination of these graphic elements led to the creation of several posters that illustrate the essence of the city through iconography, pattern, and photography.

From this imagery, I built a concept book to explain and demonstrate this new identity that I envisioned for Vila do Conde. Inside, we discover the aspects that inspired the graphic image I created through stories and curiosities about this beautiful city.
