"A Primeira Vez que Roubei um Quadro"
The First Time I Stole A Painting
"A Primeira Vez que Roubei um Quadro" (The First Time I Stole A Painting, in english) is an animation project that recounts an unusual and amusing night, that is a true story. It's the perfect example of the saying "Truth is stranger than fiction". Although the animation was left in draft form with rough drawings, in this group work I worked on the backgrounds, the video editing, and the sound design.

For the aesthetic of this project, I focused on vibrant and contrasting colors, resulting in surreal collages that created the world in which the characters moved. I animated some of the collages to give the plan more dynamism.
I was also in charge of assembling the animation frame by frame, and creating the sound for it.
The final result, even if unfinished, illustrates the crazy nature of this story, and manages to keep up with the rhythm of the tale.
This project was made as part of the Animation I class of the 3th year of the Faculty of Fine Arts of The University of Porto’s Communication Design degree.
First rough draft of the animation
Below are the multiple animated collages I created for this project.
In addition to the animated collages, I also created several static scenes to illustrate the tale.
